Three pillars
Caregivers learn practical strategies they can use throughout the day to support skill development and autonomy.
Skills are practiced in everyday routines, at home and in the community, where learning is most meaningful and lasting.
Professionals guide caregivers through modeling, feedback and real practice, building confidence and lasting use of skills.
Scientific foundation
The Beyou Caregiver Empowerment Model™ (BCEM™) is rooted in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and integrates principles of adult learning (andragogy) with other evidence-based approaches from psychology, behavioral health and caregiver training research.
Teaching meaningful skills and supporting behavior change.
Coaching caregivers through instruction, modeling, practice and feedback.
Structured caregiver coaching and behavioral support.
Supporting caregiver resilience and values-based action.
Strengthening caregiver engagement and collaborative problem-solving.
Helping caregivers develop practical skills through guided practice, reflection and real-life application.
Together, these approaches shape how BCEM™ empowers caregivers to build and generalize skills in everyday routines.
Comparison
Traditional models usually focus on teaching strategies during scheduled sessions. BCEM™ focuses on building practical skills from everyday experiences.
| Traditional parent training | BCEM™ approach |
|---|---|
| Focuses mainly on managing behaviors | Focuses on building meaningful life skills |
| Strategies discussed during sessions | Strategies practiced in real routines |
| Limited caregiver coaching | Ongoing coaching, with modeling and feedback |
| Skills may stay limited to the session | Skills generalize across everyday settings |
That way, learning happens throughout the day, not only during therapy hours.
How it began
The Beyou Caregiver Empowerment Model™ (BCEM™) was developed by the Beyou team in collaboration with professionals in applied behavior analysis, psychology and adult learning, integrating evidence-based practices to support caregiver-led skill development.
BCEM™ continues to evolve through clinical implementation, caregiver feedback and ongoing collaboration with behavioral health and education professionals.
Who delivers it
BCEM™ uses a coaching-based approach to help caregivers apply strategies in everyday routines. Families are supported by Caregiver Coaching Therapists (CCT™): professionals in psychology, behavioral health and education who guide caregivers in building meaningful skills.
Teaching caregivers practical behavioral strategies.
Supporting caregivers in real-world application and reflection.
Helping families set and pursue meaningful skill goals.
Helping transfer skills across home, community and everyday routines.
Professional training
Beyou is developing a training path for professionals interested in learning and implementing BCEM™, aimed at people in psychology, behavioral health and education who support families and caregivers.
The main delivery role, working directly with families. The CCT coaches caregivers, supports skill development and works within real routines.
The professional responsible for supervising CCTs, ensuring quality, consistency and fidelity to the BCEM™ model. May include training, case review and clinical guidance.
The CCT™ and CCS™ designations are part of Beyou’s training framework and do not replace the professional licensure or registration required for clinical practice. More information about training opportunities and certification paths will be shared as they are defined.
More than courses. A mission of human development.
