The problem

The problem isn’t a lack of courses. It’s not knowing which path to take.

Thousands of professionals start in ABA without understanding the steps, the certifications or the right order in which to invest. The result: money spent on disconnected courses and a career that stalls.

Where do I start? Do I need the 40-hour ABA training? Do I need a graduate certificate? Therapeutic companion or ABA therapist? When should I pursue international certification? How do I become a supervisor or analyst?

From ABA Therapist to Analyst

The complete path, in 5 steps.

The science agrees: becoming an analyst takes a combination of steps, not a single course. See the 5 steps and where you fit in.

  1. ABA Therapist / Technician

Minimum requirement: high school diploma. Your first international certification + a real understanding of the process.

    IBT®ABAT®RBT®
  2. Supervised practice + experience

Required for both ABA therapists and analysts. Real client work under the supervision of a qualified professional. This is the step where most people get stuck.

    Supervision
  3. Formal education + ABA coursework

An undergraduate degree + the ABA coursework hours required by the boards (IBAO/QABA).

    Graduate certificate
  4. Board exam

Passing the board exam, which demonstrates mastery of the science.

    IBA®QBA®BCBA®
  5. Behavior Analyst

Independent practice and supervision of technicians.

The 5 pillars of becoming an analyst: Formal education + ABA coursework + Experience + Supervision + Exam

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, answered.

Who issues the international certifications?

Certifications are issued by the international boards (IBAO®, QABA®, BACB® and IBCCES®), never by Beyou. Beyou is an IBAO® Authorized Content Provider and a QABA® Approved Training Provider, and prepares you for the educational requirements of these certification tracks.

Are the classes live?

Yes. There are weekly live sessions in Portuguese with specialists from Brazil and abroad, combined with microlearning, case studies and assessments on the platform.

I’m a parent, not a professional. Does Beyou have something for me?

Yes: the ABA Through Parents and Caregivers program, with the BCEM™ and RUBI® models: group training, weekly one-on-one coaching and 6 months of support, 100% online and in Portuguese. See the plans.
